From first outline
to finished parts.
Five steps to your first channel letter.
Keep this guide open beside your workspace.
Bring your idea in.
In the Artwork panel, type your lettering and choose a typeface. Use Load local TTF / OTF for your own font, or Import SVG for existing vector artwork.
Set Artwork height in millimetres and adjust Letter spacing. Click Generate 3D after changing the artwork.
SVG artwork must contain closed, filled outlines. Convert text and strokes to paths in your vector editor first; external images and effects are not supported.
Start simple: try a short word at 100 mm high before importing a detailed logo.
Build around the outline.
Choose an available construction in the left panel. In Geometry on the right, set the base, wall heights, inner and outer wall thicknesses, face thickness and support profile.
Outer wall outward extrusion adds material outside the artwork and fuses overlapping shells while preserving face fit. Choose Connected outline / backing for a shared contour plate; set its Backing border and Backing depth in Geometry.
Assembly fit gap and Cut-file fit reduction control face clearance. Laser kerf compensation changes the separately labelled DXF toolpath.
All 13 constructions are available. Dual supports adds an LED tray ledge; Rear fit has a removable printed cover; Dual illumination has two faces and chambers. Curved walls, Neon LED and Organic expose their own shape controls. Read the construction card for its mechanics and constraints.
Orbit to inspect the model. Use Front, Underside and Explode to see how the independent body, face and optional liner fit together. Visibility and color affect preview only.
The available constructions are experimental. Test your material, machine and fit on a small sample.
Make room for the details.
Open Holes in the inspector and enter hole-placement mode. Click an exposed base on the model to add a hole; select a marker to move it or edit its dimensions.
Use the underside view to inspect placement. Adjust the diameter and exact coordinates, then finish placement before orbiting again.
Red geometry errors block export. Move or delete holes that intersect an edge, counter or another bore, and wait for a valid rebuild.
Use the model checks as feedback. They do not replace checking your fasteners, wiring and real-world assembly.
Keep your iterations.
Give the document a name and click Save project. Guest projects stay in this browser. Sign in to save a separate copy to your account and reopen it on another device.
After the first save, valid edits automatically create checkpoints. Open Projects to search, reopen, duplicate or delete a project; use History to restore a checkpoint.
Download project JSON for an editable backup. Project files include vector outlines, not font binaries. Reload your local font when you want to edit the original text.
Guest projects are not uploaded automatically when you sign in. Save a copy to your account explicitly.
Send it to your machines.
Wait for GEOMETRY CHECKED, then use Export files for the production ZIP or choose individual outputs in the Export inspector. Check the bed layout before exporting print plates.
STL: individual solid parts. Select millimetres when importing into your slicer. DXF: planar cutting contours with millimetre units; use the labelled kerf-compensated toolpath only once.
3MF: parts arranged on print plates. PDF: measured outlines, settings, part schedules and assembly notes. Acrylic and printed faces are alternative ways to make the same face.
Geometry checks confirm mesh properties. Physical fit, printer behavior, acrylic kerf and electrical assembly still need your own validation.
The right file for the job.
| Format | Use it for | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| STL | Slicing a single solid part | Choose mm in your slicer |
| DXF | Cutting a face or LED template | Avoid applying kerf twice |
| 3MF | Slicing arranged print plates | Check your selected bed size |
| Reviewing the build | Reference report, not a toolpath | |
| JSON | Continuing an editable project | Keep a separate backup |
